Sash Windows FAQs
The sash is the moveable part of a window made up of the vertical and horizontal frame that holds the glass.
Whereas casement windows typically open via a hinge, sash windows traditionally slide one pane of glass over another using a pulley system.
If it’s time to replace your windows, sash windows are a perfect fit. You can do so by installing sashes into existing window frames.
Unlike timber sash windows, uPVC are very low maintenance and don’t need much care at all. Whilst timber sashes may need replacing every ten or so years, alongside varnishing costs, uPVC windows don’t!
